International President Visits

Sertoma 2012-04-10

Sertoma International President John Kerr joined our club to talk about Sertoma. John talked about some of his travels over the last year in small panes, for Chili Cookoffs, and Freedom Festivals. He reported that Sertoma is in good shape and the endowment is strong. John also talked about some of the things that Sertoma is considering as it focuses on its main mission of speech and hearing. We talked about looping where people that wear hearing aids have the ability to cut out the background noise and just hear the speakers in auditoriums, churches, or any other place with a lot of people and noise. Eighty percent of the current hearing aids have the ability to using the looping technology and very soon all hearing aids will.
